Because we can't be sure that the people who were originally killers won't do it again, whereas we have to believe that were ending the cycle. We aren't killing the killers in order to show its wrong either. Were doing it in order to protect ourselves in the future from the obvious capabilities of the original killer. We already know its wrong.

It doesn't make sense, does it? Even if it's to protect, doesn't killing people who kill people make us no better than them?

The question that comes to mind is what do you do instead? Lets say there is a fanatic with a handgun and a vest of explosives strapped to him. He fires the handgun into the chest of an innocent bystander. You have the choice of either attempting to disarm the person, whereby detonating the explosives, or firing back with whatever you have with you. If you do neither, then most likely they'll attempt to detonate the explosives. Otherwise, they could just shoot you too in order to arrive at their target intact. That perpetuates the killing anyway, and could even extend beyond your life. So what would you do? Not shoot them? Yea, I would say you'd be better than them if you shot a suicide bomber before they detonated in a marketplace. Where they're attempting to take life away, your attempting to save it. True, it isn't always the answer, but men with any clarity of thought can discern between the two. Thats why we have a court system. Thats why people are put on trial, where it could be said that a number would have been executed outright..

make em suffer, but its rather pointless in killing a murderer.
but the victims family believe that if the killer is dead they'll feel better.
but i supose thats their delusion.

I'm pro-life. That's just how I am. Why can't I just voice my opinion without people trying to change it? I'm not confrontational person at all, and I really just wanted to post my opinion on a picture I thought was very moving...
